The hotel is an absolute gem—brand new and impeccably maintained! Don’t let the 1km unpaved access road intimidate you (we were at first); as you approach, the stunning building emerges like a sparkling reward at the end of the tunnel! One side offers a glimpse of the Mayan pyramid’s peak—pure magic! The other side overlooks the spacious pool and lush gardens. No matter your room’s view, you’re in for a treat. All the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Room service is a steal—totally worth it. The pool is inviting, though the water felt just a touch chilly to me.

Very beautiful hotel in the middle of the jungle but next to Chichen Itza. The hotel is brand new and super clean. They also provided a baby bed and high chair for our 7 month old baby. The food was excellent and we loved the pool. I would definitely recommend it!

My stay at Mundo Maya was truly amazing — better than I expected, relaxing, and filled with cultural enrichment. I chose this hotel mainly for its excellent location near the Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá, and I was impressed by how the Mexican federal government has made the area more accessible with the Tren Maya and this beautiful resort to support the local economy. The amenities were fantastic: a refreshing pool surrounded by gardens, a pool table, gym, and a five-star restaurant that exceeded my expectations in both flavor and value. The chefs are incredible — every meal felt like a thoughtful expression of local and international cuisine. The only minor area for improvement would be the Wi-Fi speed, but everything else made up for it completely. The atmosphere is serene and deeply connected to nature. Whether relaxing on your balcony, walking through the manicured grounds, or enjoying a meal by the pool, there’s a sense of peace and authenticity everywhere. The resort decor blends beautifully with the natural surroundings, creating a perfect balance between comfort and culture. The location couldn’t be better — just a short distance from the Chichén Itzá archaeological site. The hotel offers convenient transportation to local attractions like museums, cenotes, and nearby towns. For just 100 MXP, the front desk will arrange drop-off and pickup at your preferred times, which made exploring the region easy and stress-free. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and well-maintained, with tasteful décor that reflects the spirit of the Yucatán. The cleanliness throughout the resort — from the rooms to the restaurant — was excellent. Fresh linens, tidy spaces, and well-kept grounds showed real care and attention from the staff. Overall, Mundo Maya is more than just a place to stay — it’s part of the cultural revival and pride of the region. If you’re visiting Chichén Itzá or traveling on the Tren Maya, this hotel is a wonderful choice for relaxation, authentic atmosphere, and outstanding value.

A quiet relaxing retreat in the jungle. ALL staff members are inviting, helpful and kind. My massage therapist Yesenia, was exceptional, she is a MUST after a week of walking and touring this beautiful part of Mexico. The restaurant has a wide variety of food with large portions. There is a beautiful pool with cabanas and plenty of lounges. This hotel is an excellent choice if you're visiting Chichen Itza . If you are riding the Tren Maya the hotel will send transportation to and from the train.

Beautiful Hotel yet not a 5 Star. With a 3 night four day stay, we had no running water the first night and no hot water the second night. There was no electricity the second day from 8am-4pm. Something that all the town experienced which the hotel had no control of but perhaps they could look into purchasing generators because it was so hot in the restaurant. Luckily we were out at Chichen Itza the rest of the day so the power outage was not an inconvenience. Rooms are so comfortable and clean. Beside not having hot water for two nights, the quiet surrounding is what I imagined and this hotel delivered. The decor was in sync with the atmosphere throughout the hotel from its entrance from the front gate to the back where you find a pool surrounded with Lucious green trees and plants all around. Every employee welcomed my family with gracious humbleness from beginning to end. They shuttle you from the parking lot to the front of the hotel and my son loved it (Jurassic Park!) We took the shuttle to Chichen Itza which was not expensive, very comfortable and a guarantee to front of the park drop-off and pick-up which was about ten to 15 minutes from the hotel and pyramid. The gym had many new machines and a few dumbbells but very clean and cool inside just a bit compact to move around. It was great for two people but anymore would be crowded. The decor flowed into the restaurant with simplicity and beauty. On the first morning, We ordered cafe de olla which was smooth, sweet and savory. The Fresh fruit plate came with melon, pineapple and papaya with yogurt and honey that was fresh and sweet. The chicken mole was sweet with a pinch of spice with undercooked tortillas. The Chilequiles (rojo) with tinga were so delicious. With no electricity, they could not offer waffles so I ordered Huevos Rancheros which looked so delicious BUT on the first cut, a thick black hair was found between the egg and tortilla. My ordered was returned and canceled so cafe de olla with fruit was my breakfast. Would I return? Maybe… Going forward, We ate at the nearby town Piste. So many places to eat delicious homemade food made with fresh meats, handmade tortillas, and fresh sweet aguas. La Poblanita off of Calle 15 and Calle 6 was our go to for tacos, tostadas, Chilequiles, huevos con chorizo, gorditas, sopes, enfrijoleros, and tortas or just a pack of fresh homemade tortillas for the road. Tsukun Santuario de Vida is a gorgeous Cenote. Highly recommended.

An absolutely incredible hotel. Once the train station and museum are open, I'm sure to be priced out of the hotel; however, it offered a luxurious rooms, a beautiful pool, a secure property, a wonderful restaurant, and an excellent staff. Highly recommend staying here.

Great hotel for this price, and the staff is friendly. It’s a bit hard to get to this hotel, the road isn’t well-paved yet so our driver got confused initially. But overall the decorations and the amenities all feel like a good resort. There’s nothing else in this area besides this hotel so it’s pretty remote. That means the dinning and shopping options are very limited, so they are overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant but there’s nothing else to pick from (had a little accident regarding our food but our server resolved it). Don’t order the pescado. Would still recommend it overall.
